D.B. Cooper is the mystery man who was later theorized to be Lynn Doyle Cooper. On November 24th, 1971, the Northwest 727 hijacker claimed to have a bomb in his brief case and demanded $200,000, four parachutes and a flight to Mexico in exchange for the safety of the 36 passengers aboard. The demands were fulfilled and the passengers were let off safely. The pilots were then commanded to fly to Mexico, but they told Cooper that they needed to stop in Reno,Nevada for a refueling stop. To avoid touching down into a trap at the Reno Airport, Cooper unlatched the rear door and parachuted into the thunderstorming night with the money strapped to his chest.
